Tutoring and BYU courses
Many students find that BYU courses are a great way to make up the credits needed to graduate in good standing with college admissions officers. BYU courses are accredited, self paced courses that follow high school curriculum. The courses can be selected in an online format, or correspondence by mail format. Students get a certain amount of time to finish the course--usually 6 months, and they can work at their own pace. Our tutors have worked with students to help them keep pace in these courses, so that they don't end up with 2 months' work to do in the final 3 days. Our tutors can also help when students get confused about material, so that the confusion doesn't cause a delay.

These courses have increased in popularity as students struggle to fit diverse courses and activities into rigid school schedules. Often, the course a student wants just isn't offered when a student needs it. Or, two courses the student needs are offered at the same time. Or a student drops a course they need because they were too swamped with other work to put in the effort required.

BYU courses can be a life-saver in any one of the above scenarios. They are ideal for a tutoring situation, because the courses are self-paced, and students must work independently to get the coursework done. A tutor can help add the needed structure to make sure the student stays on task.
