In-Home Tutoring + Online Tutoring = Higher Achievement

A+ Home Tutors now offers Online Tutoring to supplement In-Home Tutoring. We have found that students often need a little extra help in between in-home tutoring sessions, but not enough to warrant scheduling an hour with their in-home tutor. According to a Study from the US Department of Education from 2010, online tutoring can be an extremely effective supplement to in-person tutoring. The study found that a blended approach to tutoring was more effective than either online tutoring or in-home tutoring alone. It makes sense: if students can practice in between in-person tutoring sessions, get real-time answers to questions they have about their homework, and can feel confident that they always have support, then it is no surprise that their achievement will improve.

On Demand Support

Rather than wait for the next in-home session, your child can use online tutoring in between in-home sessions to get help with tough homework problems, do some last minute studying before a test, or complete practice problems with guidance from an expert online tutor. The sessions are On-Demand between the hours of 2PM and 10PM Pacific Time (they don't have to be scheduled). The sessions can be as long or as short as your student wants (there is no minimum) - once the student is satisfied, he or she can end the session. Sessions typically run from 20-40 minutes long.
