Recently, a parent gave us some feedback that illustrates a common misconception when it comes to tutoring support. The parent asked us why there was no improvement in the first few sessions of tutoring.

We took a look at the tutoring history, and there were gaps. The family had canceled as many sessions as they had completed. It was no wonder that the tutoring support was not as effective as it could be.

Sometimes, we get dramatic results from a few tutoring sessions. However, the most successful students we have commit to a consistent tutoring schedule, and do everything they can to hold the sessions on the scheduled date. Just like a sports team, the student must practice regularly to succeed.

Tutoring is not a magic wand, but with a consistent schedule of tutoring, the child can make real progress over time.
