Tutor Experience and Personality

The Success of a Home Tutor Depends on Experience and Personality

We only work with home tutors who have successful experience working with young people. Teaching and tutoring experience are obviously best, but we also value experiences like counseling, camp counseling, peer mentoring, coaching, and other leadership positions. We are looking for people who have the passion to work with young people, who love seeing a young person "get it" for the first time.

We only work with home tutors with "personality." They need to show that spark and energy that are contagious at the tutoring table. Our private tutors have a combination of passion for teaching and patience to work at the student's level and move them forward at the student's pace. Our math tutors work along side students, helping them develop and strengthen the foundation they need to excel in their math studies. Many times, students are missing math concepts from the past, and our private tutors know how to go back, fill in those gaps, and then focus on the present math curriculum.
